Kindergarten Learning Objectives
Trimester 1
During the first trimester Kindergarten students will work on building a repertoire of songs to sing (Sing-Along Songs). They will explore their voices, distinguish between whisper, sing, speak, and shout, and learn proper singing posture and technique. Students will begin work to demonstrate musical opposites such as sound/silence, high/low, up/down, and same/different. We will also focus on moving our body in creative ways to show steady beat. During this trimester Kindergarteners will have the opportunity to use un-pitched percussion instruments and will be introduced to Orff instruments (xylophones).
